I suffer with ankylosing spondylitis, which has resulted in natural fusion of my SI joints. Mine happened slowly over years, with each inflammatory flare fusing a bit more of it. So am unable to comment on having it gone surgically. It has caused shortening of the tendons that attach at the SI joint, which makes my hamstrings and quads tight, which results in thighs burning at times. Not sure if that would also occur with surgical fusion. Hopefully not as the SI joint doesn’t actually move much compared to other joints, it certainly hasn’t caused huge restrictions. I wish you luck with it.

Thank you . My si osteoarthritis seems to have come on after having my l5 s1 fused 18 months ago. Every Dr seems to have a different opinion on what will fix it. I am sorry to hear of your AS , 😑
