Cushion sole trainers, or trainers with an inner sole in. I just had an email from some company about some new socks that help the pain £28 for three pairs. Thought it was a bit pricey so just binned the info. Sorry if I see it again online will send you the details.

I don't run but I walk to my own pace, most of the time slowly :) If you enjoy your running keep it up, I will keep my eyes open for them socks I mentioned.

Hi Sweetpea, the socks can be found at drsockshop.com. Supposed to stop foot pain of varied kinds. If you try please let me know how you go on or if they do work as advertised . Good luck.

I have severe foot and ankle arthritis and use rocker sole shoes, (MBT's and Finn Comfort range). The MBT's are trainers and the Finn range could pass as trainers. Due to ankle fusions I can't run but I try and walk regularly. I teach swimming to people with disabilities and adapt to suit each person, you may need a specialist running coach to guide you as you are starting in pain and may need to adapt your running style.

I ended up with much worse pains after wearing rocker shoes for months ..seemed to throw hips out of alignment.

I was prescribed the rocker soles by the hospital who adapted my shoes for me. I had to learn how to walk in them but I have found that I need stable rocker soles, ( Sketchers were too bouncy). A good podiatrist should be able to advise you and find the right shoes for you.

Hi Sweetpea131166

You could go to your local shoe store and ask if they can recommend a website for what's called the inner soal arch an heel cushion support.

When suffering with Pain it's always so important to look after the feat as they are foundation that holds us up and our bodies are the temple that stands on it. So when your already starting off walking fast /sprint walking, jogging, power walking or even just walking distance slowly, it's very important that the arch and heels of the foot are well supported. Also you could leave two facetowels folded small in a large lunch bag and place it into the freezer so that when you come home you can wrap each foot with the cold towels as you keep both feet elevated to let the blood supply rise back up your legs taking the pressure off your feet.

I hope this is of help to you.

Be well and keep strong 🤗
