I have been living with OA for about 10 years. Hands, hips and back (so far) it has been progressively getting worse the last two. Really bad 2 fingers ache so bad in the morning I can’t do anything until I take my medication and it kicks in. Feels like the tip of my fingers are going to snap off. I take Celebrex.
Looking forward to getting or giving recommendations and advise through this group.

So glad you reached out. Saying hi right back to you. I have diagnosed ddd from chest x-ray and osteoarthritis of left big toe, but had an inflammation "event" on Sunday I'm still recovering from. First of anything like it in m life. I'm 55 and may have started menopause mid December.
Hello there, I would be interested in any ideas you have to offer re managing arthritis. It would be nice to know how other countries manage this illness & pain especially as to whether it is much the same. I have just started using Dynamint which can be bought on line, it releives pain for a while when rubbed on the joint. I will be taking the info back to our self help Arthritis Action group who meet regularly to exchange tips for trying. One big suggestion we came up with is to follow the mindfulness path to help relaxation in fact we sometimes do it at our meetings. Our organisor is now setting up new groups in the city to improve arthritis awareness & changes in management. I have two kinds of arthritis and some of the self help advice does work for osteoarthritis. Tai CHi has been recognised as helpful too. Not everything works for all but always worth a try to see if it helps you. Take care hope to chat again
Hi Brenda, I too have OA started mildly about 10 years ago I have it in my back, knees (but have one new knee now) hands, feet and ankles so I have a good idea of how you feel. Over the last year or so it has got so much worse especially the feet. My doctor gave me Celebrex for a period of 3 months only, so I could walk a little longer and lose some weight as having slow thyroid and them not having got it under control I was putting on so much weight. Those Celebrex were marvelous as I cannot tolerate opioids, have tried patches and ended up so sick and faint couldn't function, the Celebrex worked so well on me and made such a difference but because of my age (now 72) and the side effects they can have he would not let me have them for longer. Do you have to come off of them for periods of time I would be interested to know.
