Hallo everyone, I'm a 28 years old boy and I'm affected from the RA since I was 5.
At the moment I leave in Italy with my wife but in very short time we have to move on and transfer ourself in UK.
I'd like to know how is the RA in UK treated and which are the cost for the cure. In Italy for example for the patience affected from RA all medicines and cure are provided by the "National italian system" without any cost
Can someone help me pls? I didn't found any clear info about this point .
Thanks
Daniele

It depends if you are European. Currently until next year all Europeans can move to the UK and get access to health services once they are settled and have registered with a GP. After that treatment is free at the point of delivery (which means you pay through your tax contributions when you are working, but don't pay the doctor's etc). However you do have to pay for prescriptions in England, but there is a system where you can pay £105 a year for everything which works out cheaper if you need a lot of drugs.
Anyone can have free access to emergency services.
However if you are not an European national then you can't get access to the health service until you have got your immigration papers and have a right to remain or permanent residency.
