Alexander Technique

Hi

Just completed lesson 3 of 6 with an Alexander Technique teacher and have found that by applying as consciously as I can the little we have cover (maintaining the integrity of the whole spine), my continuous lower back pain and jabbing groin pain has receded.

Has anybody else had good, bad or indifferent experiences of AT?

Yes, I took a series of AT lessons twenty years ago, and I still use the basic body use directions as I do yoga and just generally. It's helped me get through PMR to the present point and now is helping with my hip arthritis. Alexander didn't think much of exercise, though, but I think basic cardiovascular activity is also very important.

Thank you Steve2002 - that was helpful and reassuring. I am happy you have found relief using it. I agree with you that basic cardiovascular activity is also very important and find nordic walking good for me. Thanks
