Af and Heart Failure

I have had AF for about 6 years after problems under anesthetic for facial Cyst removal. Had one ablation about 4 years ago. Also now have 50% heart failure after a bad chest infection. Been taken off Amiodarone as side effects can be bad. But still on Bisoprolol and Degoxin and one other medication to make my heart pump better. I See my consultant at Stoke on 18th of may to see what he suggest to get me off the medication as they all seem to have quite bad side effects. I think Possibly a second ablation or I think a Pacemaker might be a better permanent option ? If anyone has had a pacemaker fitted for AF and heart failure I would love to hear you views on the subject

Amiodarone is very effective as long as you dont take it for more than 3 months. Longer periods could cause serious side effects

Tony. Have taking it for about six months now. But consultant at Stoke has taken me off it. Don’t think it’s given me any long term side effects as had a full eye test at Specsavers last week and they said I did not have any eye problems. Doc has put me in Degoxin and another drug to help my heart beat better?
