I had been taking Cardizem 180mg LA/daily then down to 90mg LA/daily then was told to hold the evening dose since I was in bradycardia. Awaiting a call back to find out what to do next. Anyone have had this happen and how was it handled? Thanks:)

Hi, Sounds like you have done a call putting a call in to the right place. Sotalol made my heart rate drop into the mid 40's from the 60's but after monitoring everything else the consultant said he was happy at that point. It also made me feel a little unwell, but on reflection I think mine was anxiety and when I learnt to breathe in a better way I was OK.Good luck.

This is kind of a side note that may or may not be helpful for you. I too had been prescribed Cardizem. In my case it was for AFib. Anyway something happened while hospitalized, when they were trying to figure out what was wrong. Because I was also low in both magnesium and potassium at the time, they gave me magnesium via IV and oral potassium. Within a couple of minutes of giving me the IV magnesium I went back into a normal sinus rhythm and remained there. I also took the Cardizem fro a few weeks, but was overcome by side effects. My cardiologist said I could come off it at anytime and just use it as needed as if I wished. So I took her at her word and stopped taking it. Since I was still having some weirdness I looked up what kind of things I might experience health wise if I were low in potassium and magnesium. I found basically irregular heart rhythm, muscle issues etc. Basically some of the things I had been experiencing. I had been taking minerals for a long time and for some reason had stopped taking them, which is when I started having the weird heart rate stuff going on. So I started taking calcium, magnesium, Vit D3 and potassium (which I wasn't taking before separately and all my prior blood test showed my potassium levels were low, but they always told me just eat a banana a day and you'll be fine. I did eat a banana a day and it apparently wasn't enough). All the heart rhythm weirdness stopped and I actually feel better than I have for a very long time. I'm not telling you to do the same. I'm suggesting you get your vitamin and mineral levels checked to see if perhaps any of them are low and then remedy that. Wishing you find a good solution for you.
