I am Cali and recently diagnosed with heart failure after undergoing Pace and Ablate for AF. I am struggling to understand exactly what has happened to me. The procedure was supposed to dramatically improve my symptoms but did not and then I got my diagnosis of left sided heart failure, and no explanation or support offered to me. I hope on this forum I will gain knowledge.
I also belong to other forums specifically Atrial Fibrilation and Hypertension.

Jump to repliesHi cally, I remember your posts from af site. I too am in the same boat as you. Pacemaker last September and AV node ablation in February.
I was told it would help but nothing changed, I still have af but at least
I cannot feel it. I last saw a nurse specilist and told to expect another
appointment in 2 months. No advice!!

Since posting I have had a further T. O. E and was told the clot in my heart has gone. My EP came to my bed afterwards and said he would do a RF ablation but it only have a 50% chance of success. At least he is willing to try. As I am quite overweight probably about 3 stones I have asked for it to be delayed so I can lose some as the outcome would be better. The reason for my continued breathlessness is a collection. Being overweight.,pain medication and slight stiffening of the leftside of my heart which reduces the pumping action, this as well as the AF underlying.
Go back and ask and keep asking.
Sorry it is so long but I am improving by gardening weeding etc. I am no where near what I had hoped but at least I have a very patient EP who will communicate by letter to save me going to clinic.
