I just wanted to share such a positive experience I have had this week. I volunteered to be a final case study for a lady studying in ‘rewind therapy’ a pychological technique sometimes used for ptsd that is being used to help women suffering from birth trauma. If I’m honest I felt traumatised by the worry in both my pregnancies that I would suffer ppp and somehow lose the ability to function as a mother then a stressful period in my relationship that I’ve found it hard to fully move on from the fact I didn’t enjoy my pregnancy and subsequently had low mood after the birth. Well the forst session was amazing chatting to a lady who was fully understanding and accepting that what I experienced was trauma we have been doing meditation and the future 2 90 minutes sessions are meditations sort of rewinding to the traumatic event and sort of rewiring your brain to deal with the trauma. I have found such a weight has lifted from my forst session that it made me think that ppp is a trauma and this type of sessions three 90 minutes sessions of giving you space to talk then meditation exercises may help other women who have suffered ppp or birth trauma. If you google ‘rewind therapy and birth trauma’ there is information on what it is about
