I haven't but was going to be prescribed it for the last few weeks or 3rd trimester of my second pregnancy. As far as I'm aware it's considered 'safe' during pregnancy. Although I would assume that depends on dosage. It is also 'safe' to breastfeed while taking it.

I can't see my psychiatrist until the 1st so I'm just anxiously waiting I was told it's safest that the risk can't be ruled out but a small study said it was safe. Does your dr think it will prevent psychosis my biggest fear is that even on medicine to prevent it I will still get it

Hello MichelleO

I hope meeting your psychiatrist tomorrow will put your mind at rest about medication. Perhaps it might be an idea to write down the questions you have? I was always so nervous meeting my psychiatrist and would forget what to ask.

Take care

Yes I'm talking to my doctor today but I had talked to my ob and he's not worried about the medication and doesn't believe there will be withdrawals and if there are the baby will be well taken care of in the nicu my anxiety has gotten a little high sense finding out I'm having another boy and getting more surreal but dealing with it well right now hoping as time goes on I don't get out of control just staying positive

Hello Michelle

Thanks for your update, you must feel reassured that your ob isn't worried about the medication. How lovely you are having another boy. I have two sons who looked out for each other when they were growing up. They are now grown men and their hugs are priceless.

Stay positive and take care.
