Urgent attention pls!

Dear all,

Pls am new here and want to know if this postpartum is same as hypopituarism, pituitary insufficiency and Sheehan syndrome. Pls I need an urgent response.

Hello Leah234,

Postpartum psychosis is a severe form of mental illness that occurs after childbirth. You can read more about it, including symptoms, on APP's website at app-network.org/what-is-pp/

I'm afraid I don't know if there are any links between this and the conditions you are asking about, which I've done a quick search on and understand are to do with the functioning of the pituitary gland.

Others may well be able to offer more information but I hope the link above helps to answer questions you may have about postpartum psychosis in the meantime.

I don't know but I don't recognise any of those terms and I had a thorough physical health check so I doubt it.

They always test thyroid function before diagnosing pp and thyroid relates I think to the pituatory gland so I think it's a different illness but has similar symptoms but different treatment x
