Hello kcha

Welcome to the forum and thanks for letting us know about your story in the magazine. It takes a lot of courage to write a story and will be such a support to other new mums, family and friends.

It's good that Eastenders have highlighted PP and Bipolar in this way. Some episodes have been difficult to watch, even though my PP was years ago.

Thanks so much for sharing your story for the benefit of others.

Take care.

Hi kcha, well done and thank you for sharing your story to raise awareness. I'll look out for that mag in the shops. The EastEnders storyline is certainly proving to be a really good opportunity to raise awareness and tackle some of the myths surrounding mental illness and PP in particular. Telling your own story publically is a very courageous and personal thing to do, and certainly not something to be undertaken lightly or too early in the recovery journey. I hope you've found the experience positive and that telling your story has felt in some way cathartic and healing. If it has raised any difficult memories or emotions for you do share them here if you need to.

Very best wishes

Tracey

Hi kcha, thanks for your post and also for sharing you story so bravely. I too will look out for the magazine when I get to the shops at the weekend.

As others have said, it's a very personal decision and I too believe it's important to do this sort of thing if we feel happy and secure to do so. Raising awareness is so crucial and the experience can be a positive one to reach a wide audience, whether in print or on TV. I hope you are feeling that way about it too but as TraceyR said, here is a good place to share thoughts and get any support too.

Take care, xx

Hello kcha

Is it possible for you to send a link to your story? I went to a local shop and was disappointed they didn't have the magazine. It would be really interesting to read your story as although we have all had a diagnosis of PP our experiences and recovery are so different.

Thanks again for sharing .......

Hello kcha

I finally managed to buy a copy of 'New!' and read your story ...... which must have been so traumatic at the time. It's a really good magazine to be in as it must have a wide circulation with all the celebrity gossip too! As Jessie said, you are both very brave and your stories will help so many women, family and friends who might be suffering in silence.

Very well done ..... you should be very proud of yourself.

Take care.
