First of all I know I don't have PP but I don't know what sleep community to post to since there is no insomnia community

Hello! I'm a 14 year old girl who suffers from bad middle of the night insomnia and something's regular insomnia.

This has been happening for years now EVERY SINGLE NIGHT! I wake up around 3 times a night and it'll take 10-30 minutes to get back to sleep. O wake up for no good reason - nothing to wake me up.

I don't know what to do!!! My parents know and they've tried to help like looking for a kid friendly herbal medicine and we've seen a doctors and the doctor even said to our faces that she doesn't know anything about sleep and that all she knows is that we shouldn't start proper medication at my age which I agree with

I know that I've already posted before but that was before I visited the doctor (which didn't help)

If you want to read my previous post then feel free! I have good sleep hygiene, I drink warm milk before I go to bed and as far as I know I'm healthy.

Please please reply as fast as you can, and as much as you can even if someone else has commented - I need as much help as possible because I just don't know what to do!! Help :-(

Hi Erin

Thanks for your post. I'm really sorry to hear about your insomnia. I know how I hard it is to suffer from it, and I know it affects everything (emotional well being, relationships).

However I don't know that this forum is the best place to ask for help for it, as the women on here who are suffering from insomnia is for reasons different from yours, and the support we offer is specifically for postpartum psychosis which is obviously not related to you.

However, my colleague from APP sent me some useful links that would probably be helpful for you. There is a forum for anxiety on here and anxiety is linked to insomnia so I think they would be more likely to offer you better support, if you could write a post there?:

healthunlocked.com/anxietys...

also my colleague found these two websites, there are maybe some helpful tips here: wikihow.com/Deal-With-Teena...

& here: insomnia-free.com/teenage-i...

I hope that helps, and I really hope you will be able to get the support you need soon. And well done for reaching out to get help - you're doing the right thing to want to solve it

Take care
