Hi, just doing a bit of research as I have recently been diagnosed with CKD. I had some blood tests done recently when I was 39 weeks pregnant with my daughter as they thought I had preeclampsia. I didn't have preeclampsia but they found I have a high creatinine level. According to tests I've had a realised creatinine level for 6 years when I was last tested. 6 years ago I had my first daughter and I had preeclampsia with high blood pressure and protein in my urine as symptoms. I just wondered if anyone else has had problems with their kidneys since having preeclampsia?

Has anyone got CKD (Chronic Kidney Disease) from preeclampsia?
I had pre-eclampsia 14 years ago. High bp, protein in urine, emergency c-section etc..
Just got a copy of bloods from 2 years ago, when thyroid was being checked, to discovered I had elevated creatine and CKD!
Not sure if related to pre-eclampsia or probable Hashimoto’s....likely both linked!
Thanks for the response!
I also didn’t realise I had CKD, it was only with my 2nd baby they discovered I have had it over several years! I just don’t know what the cause of it is and thought it could be down the pre-eclampsia I had back in 2011. It’s actually quite common apparently for it to go undetected! Who knew!
My GP dismissed it when I asked...probably didn’t have a clue!
I guess with high protein present for the several weeks before finally delivering...and likely in weeks prior to that...the kidneys took a hammering!
Equally could have been from student days 😝
