Should I start taking low-dose aspirin now?

Hi, I'm currently 7 weeks pregnant with my second, after having developed preeclampsia in our first pregnancy, 4 years ago (our daughter was delivered at 30+6). My GP and midwife both said low-dose aspirin from 12 weeks, according to NICE guidelines. But I know advice here is to start taking it straight away, or even before you start TTC. Don't know what to do - feels scary going against what I've been told to do by GP and MW, but I'm also so very scared about the outcome of this pregnancy, and want to make sure I'm doing everything I can to help. Can anyone offer any advice/reassurance? Thanks.

Hi It may not have any affect but it will not harm you if you you take 75mg of aspirin once daily now.

Thanks - I'd been wondering whether to just go ahead and start taking it anyway, but was worried about increased risk of miscarriage.
