Yes I would like to think that darkness does not overwhelm us but it is so hard to remain positive sometimes when faced with bereavement - the darkest of times and also when one thinks of the horrors of Ukraine and Afghanistan. Growing up during the troubles in N.Ireland there was so much darkness but then look at it now - I don’t recognise it anymore, so many new buildings and amenities and a wonderful if not at times fragile peace…hope is paramount I believe. And speaking personally I have witnessed a dearly loved family member emerging from a hellish prolonged time of darkness into a wonderfully caring and happy person, it is truly miraculous! Thinking of your little tree emerging from the stump….
