Whatever you do don't fight your anxiety. Fighting creates more tension and stress which only makes the anxiety worse. You've been fighting it a while, yes? Has it helped, have you recovered?

Instead do the opposite and accept your anxiety just for the time being. Let it come, offer no resistance, agree to co-exist with it. Refuse to rise to the bait.

This way you break the chain reaction of symptoms causing fear causing more nervous sensitisation causing more symptoms causing more fear etc etc.

But it must be true and complete Acceptance. Not just "putting up with it" whilst looking at the clock wondering when it will go away.

By refusing to fight your anxiety you stop flooding your nerves with fear hormones and eventually they recover.

By agreeing to live with your anxiety you'll be able to live without it.

I think I meant fighting it in an indirect way. I agree you shouldn't fight yourself or your thoughts. I think that will make you crazier.

Understood, Slushy. I see that your anxiety is caused by thyroid imbalance. I thought there were meds that normalised that imbalance. Or like everything else in life, is it not as easy as that?

Yea it's been hell trying to get it right but I'm on the right track I think. Different medications work better for different people so it's a lot of trial and error. I've wrote some old posts about it. Some can be dark though. Beware.
