My husband has been approved for TMS and starts Monday. Anyone out there done this? Any input or advice? I’m really hoping this works...

I did it! Advice: if he has (or you can buy) a mouth guard, wear it. His jaw will thank him later. Be prepared for headaches after the session. I had no other side effects.... It didn’t work for me, but it’s different for everyone. Plus, I have been diagnosed with depression for decades and tried about 1,000 meds (that’s only a slight exaggeration!), hospitalized, two attempted suicidal, etc, etc. Which makes me extremely treatment resistant. I’m starting ECT next week.

What was up with your jaw? That’s a side effect I didn’t read about! Did read about the headaches. Good luck with ECT, that was his other option but he decided to try the TMS first.

Same here — TMS first, ECT if that didn’t work. They pull a strap under you chin to keep it still, but every time the thing “went on”, my teeth still ground together.
