Hello emmadavies58, this is something which I had not heard of before... but I have just had a quick look on the internet and have looked at this site below (copy and paste into your browser). There is a chart at the bottom of the website page called 'Warfarin Warning Signs'... It makes interesting reading? I have been on Warfarin long term since 2002 and I didn't know about this particular warning sign... I suggest that you do a bit more research on the internet anyway as there are a host of medical sites out there AND speak to your Doctor...

Interesting website. I've not seen those complications listed before.

Shame they persist in describing the action of Warfarin as 'blood thinning' though! We all know it doesn't do that....don't we?

Hi Emma

Purple toe syndrome is rare and usually occurs within a few weeks of starting warfarin. You should see your doctor for further advice. Do not ignore this.
