Hi again!! Been on xeralto since May for a DVT in my right calve!! What's the chances of getting another dvt on the other leg?? Been getting a muscular like pain in my left thigh!! Is it worth going back to the doctor or will xeralto protect me from future clots?? 😬

Sorry to answer so late, but you or anyone suffering from pain. Should consult a doctor. I am not sure about Xeralto it's a fairly new drug I am on Warfarin. You could always ask a pharmacist who would know more.
Hope you now feel better
Hi Akal5
Bit behind with my emails so only just read your post.
I had a DVT in my left leg following surgery on my knee in deceber-- I was given heparin jabs, then went on to warfarin for 3 months.
I stopped the warfarin as per docs instruction and a few weeks later I had another DVT on my left leg.
No idea where this came from,no surgery,no trauma to leg so one of lifes big mysteries I susoect.Needless to say I am now on warfarin for life.
So yes it is possible to get DVT s in both legs..
I am unable to comment on the drug xeralto as I have never used it or even heard of it.
Talk to your doc who should be able to answer your questions.Do you have regular INR tests with xeralto like with warfarin.?
Take care of yourself, hope all goes well.

Hi Crusee
I'm due to have another scan and blood test in August cause thats when it will be three months since starting xeralto!! You don't need regular blood tests when on this medication!! First pack is 15mg x two per day for 21 days and than 20mg once a day!! Maybe I'm just being paranoid with pain in the other leg!! I will be very disappointed if nothing has changed at the next scan, that will mean that xeralto hasn't helped me!! I've been pretty lucky with only one side effect and that is loss of appetite which suits me cause I'm loosing weight
All the best to you too!! 😊
Thank you Akal5
I didnt recognise my first DVT as ImI had never had one before ,the pain was awful.
However when I had the second DVT I knew straight away what it was - its a pain that feels totally different from any other. At least thats my opinion.
I hope that this drug is workng for you but I Am absolutely paranoid about DVT now ,and question any pain in my legs.
Hope the next scan doesnt show any problems and take care.

Do you feel less focus ? Especially when I'm staring at the computer screen or stationery at the traffic light junction
I had an unprovoked dvt which turned into a pulmonary embolism in both lungs. The doctor put me on Eliquis for life. He said he preferred Eliquis over Coumadin because there is no constant testing done like on Coumadin. Every drug has side effects and internal bleeding is one for the newer anticoagulants. I had another ultrasound done today. There are no blood clots, but the valves are damaged and not working properly. My legs, feet, and ankles are constantly swollen and ache. I was wearing compression stockings for about 6 months before the dvt. I don't know if they helped or not.I am going to try them again, but in a lower compression. Does anyone know how to help with the swelling or pain? It seems to be taking my body a long time to feel somewhat normal. I sometimes feel light headed, weak, tired and have insomnia. Some say it takes at least a year to feel better. I am afraid of getting another PE. The dr. says that is rare, but on this site people have said they have had more than one PE.
