Hi everyone, 2 years ago i had a large clot in the groin my leg was really swollen and very painful. I was put on wafarin for 6 months i came off the wafarin for 3 weeks and only to find more clots at the back of my knee all of these on my right leg. These clots are unprovoked, and i need at least 3 operations on different parts of my body but because these clots are unprovoked i cannot be operated on.

Angela
I've had 3 separate blood clots in my right thigh.
I was tested positive for factor 5 leiden it's a clotting abnormality.
Maybe they need to do some tests on you.
I'm on rivoxaban for life now for prevention versus risk.
Hope they find out why you keep getting blood clots.

Take a look at the sticky blood site on here, might be useful
Have you been put back on warfarin or something similar?
Hi all, I am new to all this, I had emergency surgery as my 3 main arteries below my knee to and including my foot were blocked. The surgery wasn't as successful as hoped by surgeon as my arteries are small as am I and my foot is still blocked. I am on warfarin and asprin for life. My cholesterol was 5 at the time and I am not overweight. I was relatively active tho I have a sedentry job and to add insult to injury I am 59.
I'm currently in hospital recovering from an Angiogram as the smaller feeder arteries in my foot blocked. I am waiting to see surgeon to see if he was successful in removing clots or this is as good as it gets. I am really hoping for the former as opposed to the latter.
Have a good day or evening wherever you are.
