Hi I had a ct scan a month ago which revealed numerous blood clots in my lungs.Today I have had another ct scan in my abdomen to try and find the cause.
I was told by the person in the ct room that the only way I could have got these clots was because of a malignant episode in my body somewhere. As you can appreciate I am very frightened.

I know you've received some reassuring replies to your other post from people who have travelled the same road and come out the other side so hope you're feeling a bit better. Just wanted to add that the CT person will have been a technician not a doctor with no access to your medical history so it was a very inappropriate remark for them to make and has clearly caused you a lot of distress. There are a number of reasons a person can get an unprovoked clotting episode, with malignancy being just one (not even the most likely). It's scary enough having clots and medical investigations without people casually suggesting you might have cancer! Here's hoping you get it all sorted soon and can look back on this with a wry smile. Good luck and let us know how you get on. (Another survivor 3 years down that road!)
Unless the person in the ct scan room was a consultant haematologist or oncologist then I'd wait for a reason from such. Hope things get sorted quickly for you.
