So back in the day, I was a chef. Like a proper chef, not a microwave jockey. And like many chefs I used to love a beer after knocking off, sometimes in the afternoon if you know you are in for a "buttfucking" during evening shift. I can honestly say, until I got my own bar/restaurant, I drank everyday without fail. I was already suffering early stages of AMN when I got my bar.

More recently I have almost completely stopped drinking as balance, pee and even wheelchair plus alcohol is overall a bad idea. I would still get drunk from time to time.

Even more recently I have been just doing beer tastings, totally civilised of exotic beers, however even small amounts now render me completely ill. I get waves of hot sweats and a need to lie down. I can only assume its AMN's way of attacking me now since replacing my legs with a wheelchair I beat nearly all the other symptoms that used to pose me problems.

Bravo AMN, when I thought I had beat you for the most part you come at me from a new angle, very sneaky. Quitting drinking completely obviously overcomes this problem. Which I have done. But how is it gonna come at me next? Answers on a postcard. Also yes, that is beer with cucumber in it.

Perhaps it’s medication that you are taking that is reacting with the alcohol. I forget if and what you said you were taking prescription wise. I know until I weaned off of Lyrica, I could barely drink as it made me very ill.

The problem is beer, give that stuff up and switch to rum. I've been a rum drinker for many many years and do at times wonder if that has been a contributing factor in why my fight with AMN has been so much easier than my brother's was. Funny story, when my Father was in his late 70s or early 80s his doctor asked him if he drank and what he drank and he told the doctor he drank rye and the doctor told him he should drink rum, so he switched under doctors orders...… lol Of course the key is not too much, I have 1 or 2 a day and the darker the rum the better!

I am gonna go out on a limb and say fermented sugar isn;t a remedy for AMN.

Jagermeister may have some medicinal effects, but on the whole alcohol is an awful substance, for anyone, regardless of ailment.

Trust me I know that it isn't a cure. My neurologist told me for years that alcohol is hard on nerves and that is not going to help us who already have nerve damaging issues built in. So he always said "no more than 1 to 1 and a 1/2 drinks a day".
