Husband forgetting

My husband has had a lot of health problems, and dealing with too much stress. He is 68, years ago, I mentioned to his gp that he was forgetting, his gp asked him, do you forget anything, of course my husband answered no. Then gp wrote a name and address, told my husband to read it, then continued with consultation. At end, he asked my husband to remember the name and address. He remembered it. So no memory loss. When we got to the car, my husband asked what the doctor said, because he only kept repeating the details. My husband can't remember passwords, sometimes gets lost driving. We have a habit of saying the day and what is planned to help, but even then he gets surprised about an appointment. We take our medication same time. If we are going away, I will write our plans, so he can check it. Is it stress?
