Mother in law
Sorry to hear about your situation. I'm not a medical professional, and know only about Alzheimer's and vascular dementia, both of which occurred in my family. I'm concerned whether your mother is living in her home or another family member's. Even though she has a caregiver, it sounds like you would be better off if she were placed in a home. You are entitled to live your own life. Have you had her evaluated by a neurologist?
.
My brother in law has been caring for her for 14 years. She has had a woman care giver for 11 years. We are waiting for her primary to send a script for an open MRI. We have an appointment for a neurologist on Dec 2. We are thinking to bring her to our home for a weekend to give the care givers and her a break. She sees people in her home, yard, etc.i am looking at a toxic weekend.i don't believe it will help her. She may see the same things here and will continue to see them when she returns home. Thanks
Mom was scheduled for an MRI but the insurance had not replied
She has an appointment with a neurologist on Dec 2. We had her with us for 2 days..nothing changed. She was still hallucinating even here. When she went back to her home she carried that with her. Still told my brother in law, who lives with her that there were 5 women in the shower with her and I. She saw armadilloes running in our yard. We are trying to work the process of determining what is going on. All family members and her hired in caregiver are at their wits end. She will be going to a Nursing facility as soon as all the hoops are jumped. Has anyone heard of Charles Ninety Syndrome? Very interesting. Thank you for listening.
Glad you have a nursing home lined up. I did a search for Charles Ninety Syndrome, but only came up with Charles Bonnet syndrome (CBS).
Yes that is the right one. Did you read it? What do you think
We are going to the Neurologist this Friday to get the out come of her MRI. She lives in her own home with my brother in law who has been there for 15 years. Her caregiver has been with her for 12 years. We are desperately seeking a Residential spot with full time care. She is getting combative sometimes and other times she is lucid. My brother in law can't much more because she picks on him constantly. Thanks pop loop VTG
My family has a strong history of non epsilon 4 Alzheimer's. We found the hallucination stage of AD that occurred during the moderate stage to be by far the most difficult time. It lasted for a few months, though I do not know how we managed to get through it. When you push through, severe AD is a piece of cake.
It's the worst part. Our loved one has been so much happier for the last 3 or 4 years since getting through that.
The next big problem we faced was with the G-Tube. It became something of an emergency. As long as you are well prepared, then it can be done as an outpatient. At the first sign of problems with swallowing you probably should be getting ready for the G-Tube procedure. Have it all scoped out ahead of time.
