Hello everyone .New user here. I’m a 23 year old male who has had alopecia on and off for the last 12 years. Currently the crown area and side areas of my head is very thin but new hair has managed to grow at the same time. Is there any recommendations of tablets/medication to take to promote new hair. And does anyone have any ideas to thicken and strengthen the new hair that is also growing because at the moment, it is very fine like baby hair. Thank you.

Thinning/new hair problems
Hi my son is 21 and has AU if you’d like to read my story there’s some good info in there especially towards the end. He has been nearly 3 yrs with this horrible condition but now has signs of hope 😊
Hi G_David , my suggestion if you haven't already would be to see your GP. They should be able to tell you what treatment options are available to you. Often store bought products that claim to regrow hair have no scientific evidence to back up their claims and are more likely to improve the quality of the hair you do have rather than regrow what you've lost. Many people with alopecia state when they have regrowth that it is fine, thin and usually colourless to start this often changes with time as the stronger pigmented hair grows. If you would like perhaps consider joining our closed Facebook group, with over 5,000 members you may get some further recommendations in there - facebook.com/groups/Alopeci...
Hope this helps.
