Frontal Fibrosing Alopecia

I have recently been diagnosed with FFA and was prescribed dermovate but have taken a break from it (on advice of Dr) as I got a breakout of painful acne all over my forehead. What treatments have people found to be useful and any recommendations for shampoo as I have a really itchy scalp all over, not just on my hairline. Thanks

Hi Nadia. I went on an agressive treatment course and have only lost about a 1/2 inch disc size lot of hair in 3 years.

i am now starting to reduce the medications. With caution in case it restarts.

Hi Nadia,I got diagnosed over a year ago after getting a biopsy done and was told it was FFA.

I’ve been on Hydroxychloroquine...one tablet a day and clarelux foam that i apply to the front of my scalp.Ive had no problems on the medication and my dermatologist doesn’t think my hairline has got any worse.Its mostly noticeably at ear area and I can hide it except on windy days.

I’m hoping it won’t get any worse and have been told it can burn itself out so fingers crossed it does.
