scary discovery

just discovered large (palm size) bald patch on back of my head. Completely smooth but covered by the rest of my hair. Why would this happen ? What is it ? I cant see Dr until tomorrow when I call at 8 and try to get an appointment.

I realise this is a old post.

I have just recently been diagnosed with scarring alopecia. I was wondering what help you receive after your gp appointment I'm awaiting dermatologist appointment.
