household cleansers?: Castile soap works... - Allergic to Glycols

Allergic to Glycols

household cleansers?

Castile soap works for dishes and clothes, but what can we use for other cleansers, like cleaning the floor, furniture, and countertops? Brands that used to be fine have started adding glycols. Even Simple Green puts dipropylene glycol in their fragrances, and all their products have fragrance. Brands that claim to be "free and clear" still have fragrance on the ingredient list, making their claim blatantly false. I need to be able to clean my home without getting poisoned. What are others doing?

I use white vinegar for a lot of cleaning needs. That and baking soda.

I use Castile soap for most cleaning--hand dishwashing/countertops; some fabrics like on dining room chairs. Distilled vinegar and water (1 to 4 parts ratio) and baking soda are good for almost everything--laminate floors, windows, bathrooms. I really like those cleaning cloths (Norex?) too. I wear gloves while using them, but they are fantastic for yearly cleaning like patio furniture, etc. and you only need to use a bucket of water with them.
