yes it can be that way sometimes from waking with a ache to an unbearable pain. I have not taken any medication for my fibromyalgia for 3 months now, it gave me time to deal with my other medical problems. I find winter the worst that when I get proper unwell and really struggle but really hoping this year that things will be different for me. and I can put this illness behind me. good luck

I use Tramadol Sustained Release which I find much more effective for all round pain relief :)

Winter is definitely the worse time of year! Are you still not taking any medication for your Fibro pain?

In the five years since my diagnosis, I have had exactly ONE DAY when I woke up pain-free. I'll never forget it, though, because it's one of the things on a VERY short list that gives me hope and keeps me from putting an end to my almost hopeless misery. I have no idea WHY it happened, but I DO know it wasn't a change in my diet or medications. I wish I could give you more encouraging news, but FM is such a vastly different condition for those of us who suffer from it. We all know our symptoms can be mild one day and extremely intense the next, and we know that those of us who suffer from FM would do almost anything to be able to completely control IT instead of FM controlling us.

I'm very grateful to have found this site and community. I'm in the U.S. and found Health Unlocked in a search for information about thyrotoxicosis, the most recent addition to my autoimmune attackers. I'll be joining any communities related to that one, too.

I have nothing but positive thoughts and prayers for all of you because I know how important it is to have people, no matter how great the distance apart, supporting you so you can make it through every "one more day". :>)
