I guess you could feel the irregular heartbeat in the scalp. There are many blood vessels there. I have never felt it before but can feel it in different areas of my body.

Thank you Tim for your reply, I have noticed recently the heart beats feel almost like involuntary muscles spasm which can be felt in strange places for instant in the back around the corner from the heart even in my limbs not all the time but spasmodically.

This same type of symptoms occurred with me possibly 9months ago. Awful feeling in scalp, could not lay down in bed had to sit up all night. Saw GP next day and had blood tests taken her and a medical student diagnosed Trigeminal Nueralgia prescribed Carbamazepine 100mg x 2 daily . Thankfully after 2 weeks things started getting back to normal. Not a a pleasant thing to experience at all. The blood tests were because she wonder re MS. Thankfully not another medical a problem !!

Thank you for your reply. These new symptoms seem to be occurring more frequently as times goes on and are distressing but it is good that I have come across this site, for 12 months since being diagnosed I have not come across anyone else will atrial fibullation It has taken me 12months to get be able to pronounce the word accurately never mind spell it!t Thank you again.

Hi Caromia, the correct pronunciation is Fib-rill- ation which coincidentally is the correct spelling. RE the strange feelings, my worst thing is that I can hear my heart beat as a shoosh shoosh noise in my right ear the whole time. Not a problem if there is ambient noise but irritating at night whilst trying to go to sleep.

Earwax can cause the whooshing noise in your ears. 😀

Thank you bob, my writing and diction has never been my strong point! I shall do my best to remember, your correction has made me smile....I know the shoosh noise well .It is likened to the sound we perhaps heard in the womb ...It is reassuring in a way to learn that is may be associated with Atrial Fibrillation...and thank you again for your your reply.

It could be related to high blood pressure as well. Presumably your doctor will have checked yours so you should have some indication if that is a possibility.

Hi,my blood pressure is very rarely checked but I may call into a Lloyds chemist to get a reading. When diagnosed nearly a year ago I had no knowledge of this condition AF and naively assumed a few tablets for a few weeks and everything would be back to normal its only researching that the implications are becoming clearer. Every symptom I have now blurred vision, head tremors, headaches, debilitating tiredness, feeling of heart pounding and hearing my own heart pounding, rightly or wrongly I contribute to AF...I have also had a lifetime of M.E from a very early age but managed it through diet, continuing to work throughout my life. It would be interesting to hear if there is a connection between multiple food allergies,M.E and Atrial Fibrillation. Another theory (my own) is it may always have been AF and not M.E Thank you very so much for reply I really appreciate and take on board everyone's take on this condition.C

Hi Carolina I can relate to what you are saying I have had those same symptoms for almost about a year and I have been rejecting actually seeking out a doctor because I thought it was all in my head I remember feeling that same pulse agoing through my scalp hitting the front and the back. Actually one day at work I felt my head and it felt dented in a lil and very soft with a pulse. I thought I was crazy and all in my head. I also zoom out and my head feel swollen a lot I have a very itchy scalp and I have and in pain a lot like right now because of your symptoms are like mines I know that I am not crazy and I’m going to get the blood test done. So I can get treatment thank you

Hello, sorry for not answering sooner as away and WiFi is unpredictable...

Yes,when I first experienced it was very scary as no one could explain or understand but 5 years later l am still here and still experiencing this sensation although not as frequently and now it dosnt scare the life out of me...

The only time my head was itchy was when l was taking Tramadol for pain relief the itching on my scalp nearly drove me crazy but soon as stopped the medication it stopped...

I still get the sensation of buzzing and can feel pulse in my back and end of fingers etc ..l do have fybro which could be the culprit and not necessarily the old heart.Carol

Yes, I have this, but it is not severe. I've had an ECG and blood tests, but nothing abnormal has been found. I also get ringing in my ears, which may or may not be related to it. I feel my pulse mainly in my forehead and at the top of my head.
