Had my holter monitor done and results showed SVTs. Due to my b/p already being low the cardiologist wants me to start taking digoxin with my verapamil. Has anyone been on that together before? Any side effects I need to watch out for?

Digoxin with verapamil????
I am the other way round - was on digoxin since July 2011 and then they started me on verapamil. Different with me though was I was already in heart failure and should have spoke up. The verapamil is contradictory to heart failure so I felt much worse. Actually saw a cardiologist January 2012 as I was so poorly by then and they then realised I had heart failure at last. Changed immediately to ramapril, betablockers and warfarin. Still on the digoxin and cannot tell if any side effects due to being so ill, but better than I was on the verapamil. But I have read many people with just Afib are on verapamil and doing ok. However no-one seems to usually be given digoxin I am told in the USA so UK doctors must do things differently (since they reckon it is such a pure drug over here being made of foxgloves). Sorry I am not much more help.
I was put on digoxin, but I already had a pacemaker in situe so the fact thasst it slowed my heart rate was not a problem. However it made me feel incredibly ill and I had to come off it. IT was a shame really as it did stop the AF and I was only af free for another 3 weeks after it was stopped. Ended up with an AV node ablation and am now fine
I was given the digoxin but I'm afraid to take it. Haha
I'm sorry it didn't work for you. I thank god don't have anything else going in with my health. Just the AFIB. I am not on any blood thinners either, the cardiologist felt my CAD score was low so I didn't need them. I see the EP on 2/25 to see what the next step is. Did the ablation hurt? I am glad you are fine now!!
Hi
Digoxin is still a great drug but unfortunately not for me. Lucky you having a low score, wish I did but have been on warfarin for about 10 years now with no adverse effects so thats ok.
No the ablation didn't hurt, was fairly drowsy for most of it
