Taken off flecainide and started on loading dose of Amiodarone post failed cardioversion. Ablation last fall only lasted 3 months. Any comments am praying it works as I have chronic persistent afib nothing works and feel unwell most of time. 85 years in otherwise good health till I got afib.

Thank you for commenting.

I am on maintenance amiodarone until I see my EP next week. I have never had such a quiet heart in my whole life. I know I can't stay on it long term, but it's working beautifully for me at the moment.

I had to have my loading dose in Hospital after a failed Ablation in 2023. I have now been taking 100mg daily since then. I have to admit afteryears of A/Fib and multiple Arrhythmias my heart finally is beginning to settle down to just a few episodes now and then. My EP advised me that I will have to take it for the rest of my life and I am more than happy to do this. It can be a bit of a pain as some drugs you cannot take along with it and I am also on Apixaban long term to, only downside of it is you can only have Paracetamol as a painkiller, but I live my life to the full and worry less. Take care.

I'm on 200mg Amiodarone and also take Apixaban and can take Codeine as well. I have gallstones and paracetamol won't touch the pain when I get an attack.

After three failed ablations and 12 cardioversions in four years, this drug gave me my life back. I'm too young to stay on it so am currently weaning off following yet another ablation.

I was on amioderone for six years, without any problem. Helped no end. Fortunately I don't need it now after ablation. (my 4th)

If you had no problems with it, why did you choose for the ablation? Thanks.

I have been on Amiadarone for a year and a bit. On the plus side I haven’t noticed any episodes of AF since starting on it, but I have developed hypothyroidism and high cholesterol because of it as well as developing skin issues due to playing tennis outside even while wearing factor 50. I hope I will be able to come off it eventually.
