I have never had a GA. As my AF is persistent would my case be different to all this responding on here as theirs is not persustent? Just thinking of any future issues if they occur?

persistent AF

As discussed in a previous post, if the need for a GA arose then it would be up to the anaethsetist at the time.
What do you mean by persistent AF?
24/7 in AF and don’t self convert to NSR.

Hello,
Thank you for your post. Are you due to have a procedure?

If you have any concerns or questions, please do reach out to your doctor/medical team to gain appropriate guidance.
If you are are thinking about General Anaesthesia for any future procedure, the medical team undergoing the procedure will be able to provide the most appropriate guidance and advice at that time.

I commented to a Dr friend that I had a general anaesthetic in 2002, so my AF 'must have' started after that else it would have been commented on then had I had it. Response, no, probably not. So, trust in your consultants, make sure you tell them. Even if it's in your records! And assume it will be fine. Best wishes.
