Could someone enlighten me, my chads score as of today is 0, but should change to 1 as of may this year when i turn 65, my question is this, i have recently been prescribed Losartan for my reduced kidney function, this drug lowers blood pressure, will this score me a 2 on chads, even though my blood pressure was ok before starting Losartan.

I can't possibly see why it would since your blood pressure was normal prior to the losartan. Had the losartan been prescribed for high blood pressure, that would be a different story.

If your BP was higher than normal then yes but if normal then you are not taking the drug for BP control. I understand what you are thinking, that controled BP still counts +1 but this would not be the case here.

It will be up to you whether you start taking anticoagulants after age 65, but bear in mind that the score is based on population level stats rather than a personal risk assessment. Losartan apparently also has antithrombotic properties.
