Does anyone know if grounding mats are helpful to ease Lymphedema and if having AF can cause me a problem with using one?

grounding mat

I had to look up what a grounding mat is. In the Frequently Asked Questions it says grounding mats reduce coagulation so consult your doctor about grounding mats before buying one.
Hi Ginny12
I don’t know about lymphoedema I’m afraid but I’ve just ordered a grounding mat to try out. I have permanent AF but am always on the lookout for things to try to make it not so permanent😀 I’ll let you know how it goes from an AF point of view.
All the best, TC
Thanks TC, I've ordered one with money if not happy so will post once I've been using for a while - good luck and look forward to hearing your thoughts after usage
I've been using an earthing /grounding mat for about five years now. I got so much benefit from using it that I started importing them and selling them. ( I no longer do that.)
I have one in my bed and I have a smaller one that I use as a mouse mat so that I'm earthed when I'm on the computer.
Google The Earthing Movie for more information.
I don’t use a grounding mat. I walk barefoot on my thick lawn. I don’t know how much good it does, but I love the feeling. Of course, I am fortunate to be able to win in Florida.
I wonder if the lymphedema would be drained with jumping on a mini tramp daily. Also I am going to a chiropractor twice a week to get adjusted and will eventually go once a week to once a month to improve my parasympathetic and sympathetic response and reduce a fib. It seems to be a good thing for me
Interesting - but too many replacement parts, I'd not be able to get up if I fell over but would love to know if anyone found it helped
Hi, if it’s any help on a mini trampoline aka rebounder the feet doesn’t leave the mat. Hmm maybe think of the motion of waves you’re just slightly moving up and down but with support (plus there are models with handles!). Main idea is the slight muscle activation helps the lymphatic system move the lymph.
There are also many great manual massages one can do oneself, I like the big 6 pattern due to the explanations around why they start with certain lymph nodes to open the flow and then help guide it out as it were.
Ok, thank you - hadn't realised that and I'll have a look at manual massages
I’m never sure how much we can/cannot say here… admit please delete if not ok.
I can’t speak for the efficacy but I found this an easy intro to self massage and the key lymph centres in our bodies.
It is Mercola interviewing Perry Nickelston and there’s an article to go with it also.
“The "Big 6" routine developed by chiropractor Perry Nickelston involves stimulating six key lymphatic points to enhance blood flow, nerve response and the clearance of toxins. The "Big 6" lymphatic drainage points are: above and below the collarbone, jawline, chest, abdomen, hip area and back of the knees”
Fingers crossed you find help, hugs, Eva
