Good morning everyone just paid for a holtor as never had one and y wanted to see what my average hr was as if I have an echo it shoots up as I am so anxious so this has come back with average 82 so ok with that. My question is my vt has been highlighted as lots of singles some couplets and some triplets which they have highlighted so is this a normal part of afib? I have permanent afib and left ventricular ejection of 45 discussing this report on Monday with gp but looked up this vt and it said ok as long as not lasting more than a few seconds, so wondering if my present meds of 10mg bisoprolol and 1.25mcg of digoxin plus adaxoban will control this? Any comments would be welcome thank you

Vt reading on holtor

Alwasy best not to over-think these things and let your doctore talk you through the results.
Yes, but also list your questions so you don't forget. I'm terrible at remembering something just after I have left his room!
Absolutely, rung the bhf cardiac nurse who took me through it all maybe now they will refer me to a cardiologist which I have never seen even though I made an appointment to pay privately gp said it was a waste of money and I had to cancel it as he would not refer me but the cardiac nurse said I must insist on Monday as the vt development has got to be discussed with a cardiologist I am just glad I paid for the holster to be done or this would never have been discovered.
I think I read on here recently that you no longer need a doctor referral letter for a private cardiologist appointment. You could check this out by deciding what EP you wish to see and ringing their secretary. You might also consider changing your GP.
Didn't know that the secretary who made the appointment just said get the surgery to send all info needed over she didn't say anything when I cancelled it saying the gp wouldn't refer me will be ringing to make an appointment with her tomorrow before I go to the gp, it's a different one I have been referred on so thank you for pointing this out.
I’m presuming that when you say vt you mean ventricular tachycardia? I have paf and none sustained ventricular tachycardia. Diagnosed by electrophysiologist and is totally manageable and livable.
Yes it just appeared on this holtor out of the blue, it said some singles and couplets and then showed this triple at 3 beats of 168bpm, at around midnight when I was in bed, I have a severe mental health condition so this is the time when anxiety is sky high so it's interesting thank you for your reassurance.
If you have AF it's not uncommon to have short runs of fast beats, as it all Ventricular, more that 3 beats is classed as VT. In the Pacemaker world more than 5 seen these will be classed as Non sustained VT.
If you get a much longer run, you know it. If you are an asymptomatic, it's OK but the Team doing the Holter will highlight it and send for Review to your consultant.
Looking forward to eventually getting a consultant after all this time without one! I suppose a 7 day holter will be the next step as I have never had one despite be diagnosed last June this is all new to me, thank goodness we have these bhf cardiac nurses the one I spoke to was lovely yesterday and reassuringly took me through all this it's an amazing resource to have just on the end of the phone.
