Hi I had palpitations this morning so I recorded it on my Apple Watch it said AFib but I showed my gp he said it was a good regular rhythm. Any thoughts I know you can’t diagnose. Many thanks Karen

AFib reading on Apple Watch 4
Have you already been diagnosed with a fib? If yes, maybe he was ok with a short run of a fib. If no, you would need to have a longer study to capture the a fib, like wearing a monitor for a few weeks.
No not diagnosed yet been having episodes since November waiting to have a 7 day monitor in may
Glad you have the 7 day event monitor scheduled, that should give you an answer. There are irregular heart rhythms that are benign, so try not to worry too much until you have a true ekg. Apple Watch alerts us to irregular rhythms but is not a diagnostic tool. You might cut out caffeine, alcohol, highly salty foods until you know what’s going on.
Being discussed recently is how these devices cannot be relied upon to give accurate readings, hopefully Fibfab will see your post as she is qualified to read ecg's.
This looks very similar to a trace seen elsewhere, perhaps a Facebook group. Very difficult to see clearly, however appears to show normal sinus rhythm with some noise/artefact being misinterpreted as AF.
Look at the upward deflections, they are evenly spaced but at the lower end of the strip there are some smaller peaks closer together. Does that make sense?
True. Of course an episode of symptomatic paroxysmal AF is likely to be at a higher rate than the one on the trace shown.
I think they’re just too small to see.
I was wondering if if you wear the watch 24/7 if it will alert you if you are in a-fib? If so, might it replace the need for an implantable loop device? I have a Kardia device but it only works when you take a measure and will NOT work when BP is under 50. Also there are many places where it says there is too much interference to take a measure.
Gave up alcohol, drank a beer a day, gave up caffeine, was addicted to diet Ice Tea, gave up sleeping on my side, sleep in recliner now, had two afib attacks, one last October, one in January, none since then, pretty much stay in sinus rhythm, occasional skip, no more fluttering ...I would say 95% improvement ...back to going to cardiologist every 6 months, Eliqus twice a day...need to lose weight, always a problem
He said watch showed normal
Sorry he did but was all normal by the time I got there
I don’t drink alcohol or caffeine and eat a healthy diet and I am not over weight I weigh 7st6lb.things are better not so many episodes
