Thanks for replying. It might be my bisoporol making it low.

No I have been on bisoporol for 11 years but they increased the dose last year when I had Atrial Fibrillation. I just wondered if anyone else has blood pressure as low as me.

Yes. Comes and goes. Sometimes a little dizzy but sit and it goes away. I check BP regularly and it is mainly 60s diastolic. No change in needs. Very mild AFib. 2.5mg Bisoprolol.

I have had but now stabilised through various treatments and practices. I think my lowest recorded was 60/40 in hospital with all alarms going off! My systolic was rarely above 90 for about 50 years of my life so learned to live with it. AF just magnified the issue. I suggest you go to the STARS part of the AA website and research various self help you can practice.

I now chug along at around 115-120 very happily.

Biso may lower your BP but as long as systolic is above 90 medics rarely seem concerned, unless you faint (syncope) or have pre-syncope - on the verge.

I had low BP all my life which I often found debilitating but was never treated as all the doctors used to say ‘lucky you’. Didn’t feel lucky!

The day I was admitted to hospital and diagnosed with AF my BP dropped in about 6 hours from its normal of around 136/80down to 76/50. Into hospital my GP sent me and in for 6 days and sent home with AF. Sorted. 😊

I think I can beat that . Relaxing at home in the evenings my BP is systolic 90s to low 100+ , diastolic in the 40s , often around 41. Doesn’t seem to cause problems getting up out of chairs etc, though I have never been keen on queuing /standing still for long periods. Not on any meds except Edoxaban , echo fine and nobody seems concerned about it . I think they only worry if it’s a change for you, or it causes symptoms

I would check with GP if diastolic in the 40S.

Mine is regularly on the low 90/60 range considered normal and am on Bisoprolol (6years) @ 1.25mg. I saw my GP because of constant fatigue & was told to take more salt with my food! Since I already do take salt to taste I would ruin my meals if I add more lol! I'm now waiting to seem my cardio & hoping he can Wean me off Bisoprolol to see if that helps. Best wishes on your own journey.

119/80 hypertension? That algorithm is missleading.

Yes. It is caused by the tiny daily dose of Bisoprolol that I take (2,5 mg). I take it every other day now, instead of daily.

Hi

Looks like your machine needs realigning through testing.

Mine keeps going down to 108/62. I've started feeling head/vision unstable. Eyes closed moving... I cut Bisoprolol in half ow on 1/2x 2.5mg = 1,25.

Much improved still getting this scenio so now 1.25 every other day. Ready to say goodbye to it.

2 days without better again. 3 readings 119/79, 145/82, 132/84.

That's great.

I depend on CCB Ditiazem 120 CD AM for rapid heart rate. I can raise to 180 CD.

I've got back confidence walking up and down steps and walking further without stopping.

Is your HR normal with low Bisoprolol? Are you communicating with GP when changing Bisoprolol?

Hi

Yes, not changed and it wasn't Bosoprolol getting me int CONTROL of heart rate - it was CCB Diltiazem.

The Cardiac Nurse reminded me that I could take the Diltiazem from 120CD to 180mg CD.

CCB Diltiazem is always taken AM away from the low Night Rate that doesn't change 47avg bpm.

Going back to the last session with my public heart specialist, I cornered him giving me advice re what do I do if H/R goes low because there is nothing here in NZ lower than the 120mg CD.

He clearly said to drop the Bisoprolol.

I took my problem of possible dropping down Bisoprolol because of when picking up the pong pong ball I need 3-5minutes to stable my vision. I had had trouble in Japan which showed up problems in walking and having to stop for more energy, lots of sleeping afterexertion and concentration on going down and up stairs.

When I returned 1 month later she hadn't given me any direction from Cardiology.

I said I had to try 1/2ing the 2.5mg Bisoprolol.

She handed me a letter and I didn't see the date then.

Cardiology Dr merely looked at Mr Chan last report before he discharged me.

She said the suggestion to change to Sotelol was a no, is this med is geared to sort out the anti-arrythmic which would fail as I am persistent.

Then she gave offering metoprolol or cav..... so she had not read that metoprolol is on my banned list. Dr said no to Car...........

So as Dr Chan had reported that bisoprolol could be dropped, I decided totry 1/2ing to 1.25mg.

I had tried 2 years ago but a ECG had made it a no.

I booked an ECG. when I was doing this reduction.

I had an additional problem with vision when I closed my eyes. 1/2 vertigo I would describe it.

This worsened after Crown procedure done.

Sometimes, and with ever changing Drs Locums and some nursing experience one can carefully assess and watch levels, it is a no brainer not to use your own intellect.

Bisoprolol has never controlled my heart rate hence CCB Diltiazem was introduced and it did a great dramatic job of reducing my H/R into CONTROL From 156 to 51bpm.

Bisoprolol had done a good job of lowering my systolic level.

I'm reducing more and on missing 2 nights I have lost this vertigo. Better walking and no fatigue.

Hi

My Dr agreed that 108/62 was low BP.

May be our numbers in their 'rest of detail' is not the same.

It puts under a person aged my age of 75 as normal @ 140/80.

An increasing BP for us oldies.

Maybe ask your medic to lower your bisoprolol to see what happens.

My BP has always been lowish, as a 71yo I am still around 115/68. My Cardio 11 yrs ago said Biso would make me feel unwell but recently gave me it to me on my request as a PIP just in case I had high tachycardia, as just on Flecainide.

I haven't a clue what mine is. I don't test myself. If I feel light headed I'd tell the GP. I only have faith in BP taken by sphygmomonometer (? spelling).

Yes me on occasions. I do have lowish BP offen around 100/60 my EP isn't concerned about it

Yes, I have low blood pressure of those numbers. It is normal for me. I have no symptoms. I am unable to take Bisoprolol regularly as this does lower it more. If my blood pressure on occasions goes lower l eat salty things for a few days (salted peanuts are good and nutritious) It really works for me and brings the numbers back up. Make sure you keep well hydrated and no too hot showers which lower blood pressure. If you get a really bad drop in pressure a caffeinated drink works wonders. These remedies should only be temporary because of AF.
