Bit of an update on recovery at 2 weeks.

It’s has had its ups and downs, but things are settling down.

I think the GA itself takes some time to get over and all the new strange sensations and and twinges gradually lessen and that burning feeling in your chest just becomes your usual indigestion rather than you heart attack.

I still feel it if I push my luck a bit and pretend to be back to normal and as predicted my resting pulse hovers around 90, which itself must slow you down abit.

What I would like to know is has anyone else experienced freezing cold face and tendency to cold sweat even when otherwise feeling warm and comfortable. I know a cold nose on a dog is a good sign, but not so much on an old woman.

I have also suddenly noticed at two weeks post op some swelling in my ankles. Would this be something expected while the heart is healing or should I worry? Perhaps the 90 resting pulse is the culprit? Any takers?

All in all, slowly getting back normal and would be even better without sciatica joining in the fun. More the merrier !

“Him indoors” has been busy with all things domestic and has come to conclusion that duvets are stupid, dusting total waste of time, Dyson should revisit his design, three meals a day is excessive and there is a black hole in the fridge. Who would have known!

Bless!

Congratulations on your ablation! Give the anesthesia time to wear off, some of us cleared quickly others it can take weeks or months. Feet swelling could be from the excess fluids via IV during the ablation and/or new medication's such as calcium channel blockers. In any event, nothing to worry about, but something to report to your physician. Two weeks is still very early the recovery, so listen to your body and only do as much as it tells you to do.

Have you read the AFA fact sheet on Ablations and recovery? If not it's on the AFA website. You've accidentally posted twice. Go to the other post, at the very bottom are the words Report more and what looks like a v. Press /click on the v and you have the options to edit and delete. Press / click on delete

I had no idea the procedure was done under GA

It depends on what is done and who is doing it. When asked I was told they will specify when you have your pre op assessment.

Yes, they told me at the pre op assessment. Apparently at my hospital it depends if there is an anaesthetist available which for me there wasn't so bad mine under sedation

I’m 9 days post op & feeling all kinds of weirdness so thank you for sharing yours! I don’t have your symptoms, but finding I hit the wall very fast (after overdoing it) and suffer accordingly. Send healing wishes your way and know we’ll come out the other end of this soon and much better!💪
