NICE recommends using a remote digital heart failure system, developed in Manchester, to help reduce hospital admissions.
This new approach of monitoring health data collected from patients’ pacemakers and implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) could potentially dramatically reduce heart failure-related hospitalisations and improve patient care.
my pacemaker was made for is a Medtronic but very unique. I am told in fact one of a kind. I have HI I have a third line that right now does nothing but it’s there just in case I can’t tell you everything about it but what I can tell you is I am monitored 24 seven and I have an app on my phone so I can see when my pacemaker is sending information. Evidently there are codes or something on the other end when something is unusual and needs to be addressed ASAP. They can do a full transmission at any time and usually let me know ahead of date is and I’ll get a notice when it is finished. I could be sleeping or taking a shower lol when I go to the EP, I have my own tech who has been with from the day of the implant. She has a device to also check and can make changes if necessary although much of it has to be done by an engineer or the doctor. I forget how it works because I can’t make changes lol I even have a back up switch. My pacemaker is not going to just stop working FYI.
in case people not they should be regarding the fact that you can still feel flutter and a fib when you have a pacemaker and AV note ablation the difference is it no longer will damage your heart.
PS it doesn’t feel any better with a pacemaker than it does without so if you can figure your triggers and avoid them, you will be happier. I know what I shouldn’t do for the most part so I try not to do them.
having this type of system is like having an angel over you watching this is really important because a trip to the ER is not going to be able to do much. They will be able to stabilize me if something is really bad and make me comfortable until they can get my EP. The heart Institute of East Texas, as who did the work and they need to be the ones to fix me so every time I feel something it makes no sense to run to the ER. That being said another thing people with a fib need to remember is we can still have a heart attack, etc. so don’t ignore if you think you could be having one. There is a big learning curve when you have a fib, your life will never be the same, but it can still be good.
