Thank you all for your time and comforting words as we waited for the hurricane. The local TV stations follow the hurricane from start to finish and it did weaken somewhat. It was still terrible for many but by the time it reached our area,we received some high winds and rain. Tree limbs down all over this morning but thank goodness no trees. The roof held. It's old and my partner never replaced it years ago when he should have. (Too much time spent at the river fishing with his buddies 🙃) It would have been too much to go to a shelter even with help because he does wander and he would have kept saying when are we going home. He's done that a lot. Plus taking the 3 cats and provisions. All too much. I didn't want him upsetting others who were already upset. So we hunkered down and we believe in God so we prayed. As did our friends and relatives from afar. And the wonderful prayers and good wishes all of you sent. Such comfort. Now unfortunately my cell phone service to call out as well as the landline phone, are not working. I am able to get online and text with my cell phone. We have AT&T service provider and when I contact them they say there's no problem. I switched to them because my other provider was not working but AT&T has had more problems over the years for such an old company. So eventually I'll have to look again for something better. I need to get back to calling different facilities to find one with memory care for John but can't until I can get service. It has to be something in the phone lines causing a problem with the landline not working and my neighbor had trouble to this morning and she doesn't have AT&T. Oh to go back to the days when some things were much simpler. I hope the storms are done coming. My old heart breaks too for those who lost lives or homes. Several lost lives from tornadoes spawned by the hurricane. There were 126 tornado warnings during the hurricane. It's still not quite over. The east coast may still be getting some bad weather. Hurricanes are two fold. You have the "front" that hits first. Then the eyewall, the middle where it's calm, then the "back" and it hits again. At least that's how I describe it. And when it comes inland that's when you get the tornados and flooding. Severe flooding sometimes like the Carolinas had from hurricane Helene. That was and will be for years to come a sad, sad tragedy.
Thank you all again. With the hurricane I was given a little spare time. Something I have little of lately. So I will read the forum once again when I can. I wish all of you here to find the help and support you are needing. Ànd those of you who have been here so long to keep giving that help and support. You all have no idea how valuable you all are. Bye for now. You all take care. 💖🤗 Belinda
