Can someone please point me in the right direction of the fact sheet for post ablation. I hadmy ablation done two days ago and my husband thinks I should be going for a nice long walk in the sunshine. I am in a little discomfort and running on around 40% at the moment so I just wanted to show him the sheet so that he understands what I am going through.

Much too soon, maybe a walk around the garden in the shade will be ok.

Hello Nantoone, everyone recovers differently from a procedure, so please listen to your body and the advice of your medical team. You will need to take it easy for at least a week (or longer!) to allow your body to recover, the visible wound is only a fraction of the procedure as we cannot see the internal wounds - so please do not overdo it just yet.
Our Patient Services Team are here to talk to if you would like a chat 01789 867502
Kind regards

I didn't go for a long walk but I did walk every day starting the day after I came out of hospital 4 days later I went out for lunch
My EP told me I could do my normal dog walk of 2-3 miles straight away if I felt like it. Felt fine the following day, did the walk, cut the grass, cooked the dinner and then bam, that night had an episode. All because I overdid it, was already deyhydrated from the starving beforehand and overtired - all my usual triggers. Then read the post ablation fact sheet and wished I'd seen it before!
My husband thought people were like cars - they go to the GP or hospital and come back ‘fixed’. He also thought if you were too ill/ tired to carry out your usual routine you should go to bed so as to recover asap. It took a long time to re-educate him…..
It also depends on if you had an ablation for AFlutter or AFib.
I had an ablation for Flutter and was not told how to recover.
I pretty much jumped off the hospital bed into my car and drove home to continue life as per normal.
