Wellue ECG
Did your GP ask you to simply record "symptoms" or does he want an EKG record?
If the former you don't need an EKG recording device like the Wellue, Kardia, or Apple Watch. In fact, Kardia states that it may not give accurate readings with a pacemaker. Not sure about the other two, but I would check with them before investing any money.

Jim i want to get all info poss to my gp as she is using it to get things like cardio appts happening.I dont know why its got to be like this now because i went through all the tests etc 3 years ago and had a pm fitted with the intention of doing node ablation. All that had happened is drugs and more drugs. Sure the pm has stopped my hr going to low at night but i am now excersise intolent. Been through many drugs and get hardly any sleep and almost continuous palpitations and thumps. Thats over 5 yrs of misery.
Think i will get the Wellue. I have an emay which seems very good but the Wellue will give me 24 hr recording so i can get my doc a decent diary. At the mo i get a big chest thump so i have to grab the may and press record and also write down the time and the feelings and effects. Not easy when its during the night. Cutting my sleep day tome is also a hassle but not so frequent.COLIN
I have a Kardia and pacemaker and ECG works ok but does depend if your pacemaker is always pacing or only intermittently. Kardia is the most used and acceptable to most doctors, approved by FDA (US) and NICE (UK).
If your doctor just wants diary of your symptoms and because your pacemaker would be monitoring 24/7 anyway - use a symptom tracker app or just write in a diary. If you have an iPhone you can record all your symptoms, BP, Heart Rate and ECG on the Health App.
Hi CD. My Biotronik pacemake apparently is streaming out info day and night so i bought a Messenger home monitor. Alas i have not been able to complete registration. As as soon as i get to the ast piece of info to input it comes up with,Something went wrong. I told my pm technician on monday and she just laughed and said You cant just buy one of those without our input ! Any she did say she would provided the appropriate number and put me on. I dont know what happens now though as ive got the messenger device and im still not got the app o n my phone going. Any ideas about it. If thats going i wont need a portable ecg.She actually told me that she doesnt think the Biotronik Messenger app will work in NZ.
Regional differences are an issue. Mine is a Medtronic device and the info goes through the app from UK, to the US, transmitted back to the pacing clinic in UK. I only get to know detailed info through the clinic but my phone app shows basic info such as remaining battery life, when the last transmission was received and the next time the clinic will receive info - 13 Aug. So not exactly day to day info you could use but the clinic usually give me a condensed report. Interestingly it does track my activity. Hence I use the Kardia - mainly because my EP helped trial it in UK and as a very early user for testing I get some upgrades for free.
Does your doctor want you to keep a record to help figure out what triggers your symptoms? The lead cardiologist in my local County hospital suggested I keep a record for this reason and it is beginning to help figure out what triggers the episodes. I note time of day, rate per Kardia, duration of episode, and anything significant that happened prior to the episode.
It looks like strenuous activity is a no no which is fairly annoying ...
I also have Kardia, which stores ECG records.
Trouble is Cat i dont need any triggers as my mode of AF is permanent. I cant excersise for fitness anymore which is mote than annoying having been a competitive club cyclisti do use a stationary bike at our gym but only can go as high as 3 to 4 mets which im skure you would find is very useless. All the best. Let me know any secrets
Yes, indeed. The Wellue produces good quality ECG strips that are noise free if used with electrode patches. You need to be still to produce high quality traces from any ECG machine, however (including professional ones).
I've been lucky recently to be able to try a BRAND new 6-lead ECG device, from Contec (the PM20). It uses skin contacts only, but produces fine looking 6 lead traces (see below).

Ppiman seems to be the Forum's Wellue expert. I'm not sure which Wellue device you are asking about, but there is now an updated Wellue model that records continuously for a max of 24 or 72 hours (that's 2 differently priced versions). See ...
I can’t understand why you haven’t had the node ablation because I would have thought that would have solved some or all of your problems? As you have a pacemaker there is no point in recording ecgs yourself. What you need to do is record symptoms with date, time, duration, description so they can be matched with your pacemaker recording. Some lucky people in permanent AF have few symptoms but sadly you aren’t one of them so you need a record to demonstrate your misery ❤️🩹
