Dizzyness and lightheadedness are fairly common side effects with Sotalol according to the BNF

Sotatol also has potentially dangerous (though rare) side effects and it’s not so long ago that NICE recommended against using it in AFib.

I took it previously for several years without any problems.

I would suggest talking to your GP

Did you check your heart rate during this dizzy spell? It might well have been high. I had a spell of tachycardia today, not AF according to my watch, but much like it, and I felt quite woozy. It is a very unpleasant feeling.

There also seems to be a lot of vertigo about recently from the catarrh and sinus troubles that are the result of winter colds. My wife and a friend both had it this week, and my wife's doctor told her others had phoned in with it, too.

I hope it’s that then and hopefully it will go

If a room spins, it's usually the ear; if you feel distant and have brain fog or similar, it can be AF or many other things, I would think.

How is your bp while standing. I have been having episodes of low bp after standing up , the doctor says it’s not related to the solatol. It started when I was put on it with also light headedness. I’m on solatol 80mg twice a day.
