SORRY!

Apologies to everyone who responded or asked questions in the last week or so - I have now replied and over the next couple of days will be trying to catch up with posts.

The good weather has taken us out into the garden in the mornings and then exhausted in the afternoons due to heat and exertion. Ordering new back gate that doesn't warp and shrink and sorting out guttering! We have been looking after other peoples pets and had visits from relatives and one more to come. Next week we have cousin's dog for the whole week, dog sitting for a neighbour for 3 days and hoping to get the garden finished and looking as it should at this time of year. At least it is not so hot now but the grass still grows!

Hope everyone has an enjoyable bank holiday weekend whatever the weather brings us.

Well done. I still have all the gutters to change on the back of our bungalow but need about three days of no rain forecast. Been drilling and pluggng holes all along our front terrace wall for next Christmas' lights since I can no longer go up the ladder to hang them on top of the roof! Bosses orders!!! Darned grass and weeds never stop do they.

NO! When we have had the odd shower recently that's all I have thought about is the grass growing and wife has been thinkig thank goodness she doesn't have to water the containers!

Our bungalow and other buildings are on a flat plateau cut into the hillside so lots of containers and pots but the rest of the property is like Scarfell Pike and I can no longer manage the mower so Sam has to use the strimmer on that which is a two battery job! We tried a wildflower meadow but not that succesful and then we had a huge mess to deal with. Sheep I think is the next option!

That's why we moved! Though I do miss the old place close to an acre - but on a slope with fruit trees at the bottom 3 plum, 1 damson, 5 apple, over 80 shrubs in shrubberies! The best bit was that it all lead down to a lovely irrigation lake belonging to the local farmer where we had Coots, Moorhens, Herons and Swans and then being able to watch the Swifts in Summer. Lovely old dry stone walls and long hedges to keep in order! See my problem? Our garden looks lovely but we don't have those views! :(
