Dronedarone

Was at my consultant where he has prescribed Dronedarone for my A. F explained about side affects that reassured these were rare just wondering what anyone on here experience of this drug and how affective it was many thanks

Hi. I have been on Donedarone since March 2022. My episodes are less frequent. There have been no side effects that I know of. I have a kidney and liver check every six months. I was given a pacemaker in March 2023 because of syncope and that has had a positive effect also. Everyone is different but it has helped me. Good luck.

Hi Redfoot, i have taken dronederone for approx 4 years now, it helps subdue af for me but certainly hasnt stopped it , in fact , sometimes i wonder if it has actually increased incidences, looking back on my diary of events from 2014, but, as they say af begets af.

Hello Redfood, I’ve been on dronedarone for the last 18 months since a successful cardioversion to help maintain sinus rhythm . I’ve also been on it previously for a similar time and had no negative side effects but do require regular blood tests to check liver function . In my case it has been successful with only a few small AF breakthroughs . I will be having ablation no 3 tomorrow so my goal is to come off the dronedarone long term . Fingers crossed !
