Has anyone here experienced frequent nosebleeds on blood thinners?

Blood Thinner Concern
Anticaguants do not "thin" blood so they are not likely to cause spontaneous bleeding but if there is an underlying weakness then any bleeds will be more likely and visible. We are all different but the only nose bleeds I have ever had have been down to aspirin.
Hi Afibn,
I was first diagnosed with paroxysmal AF in January 2010. On discharge from hospital the Cardiac Consultant prescribed me a range of meds, among which were Warfarin and Bisoprolol. The Bisoprolol was prescribed to be taken in the morning first thing. After I'd been on it for a few months I began to get random, full flow nosebleeds.
I reported this to my GP who initially thought it was Warfarin but after discussions with my INR Clinic told me to change my Bisoprolol from morning to night time but keep the same dose. I did this and have never ever, ever had a nose bleed since. Ever!
You talk of your anticoagulant as blood thinners which isn't really helpful ....... so which one is it ? There are 5 that I know of !! What other medication ( if any ) are you on ? I assume you are being prescribed drugs for your AF control ?
funny you should say that, have been on blood thinners for over 12 years and I have suddenly developed nose bleeds, haven’t been to my gp, as it takes an hour for the receptionist to answer the phone!

PS
How long have you been taking B/T ?
No. I have been taking apixaban for nearly 8 years now and have not noticed any bleeds I have been worse or longer - even when I cut and graze myself gardening. Haven't had any nose bleeds either.
My husband had lots of nose bleeds on Warfarin, no cause found other than the Warfarin.
I’m on Apixaban and never had a problem.
Yes I had 3 serious nosebleeds on Warfarin all needing hospitalisation. It was decided that my Warfarin was not able to be controlled and I was put on Apixaban. Still had occasional bleeds so it was decided I had a weak blood vessel in my nose not visible so they were unable to cauterize and I must keep my blood pressure under control. Not easy to live with this uncertainty.
