Hi,

I was on bisoprolol 2.5 mg and walking on the level was fine. As soon as I walked uphill or even a slight incline I was breathless and got severe pains across my back and breathing was very painful. (After only one tablet)

Bisoprolol was then reduced to 1.25 mg and it improved slightly.

After 5 months I changed to diltiazem and now I really have no pain when walking uphill.

Hope you can get it sorted soon.

Marion

Thanks Marion. The pain radiators behind the shoulder blades on myself mainly on the left side...I feel a nuisance now with the GP and Cardio as long as there are no further AF episodes the drugs are doing there job..I look well and like most other women take a pride in my appearance and I feel judged on that....C

I never feel judged on my appearance - so don't worry about that. These pains are a nusiance, I get a lot of vague chesty pains and have had various investigations but I do still get them even though consultant says everything ok. I think its all part of the whole af thing. I can't walk uphill without stopping a lot.

Hi lizwright.

It is very confusing .Yesterday bike slight inclines were l had to peddle hard no breathlessness....Unfortunately though my foot slipped off the peddle and spun around hitting my shin and causing a slight bleed and a big bruse today....Go swimming today instead.....Confused as to how it's possible to perform these activities without breathlessness or chest pain but walking upstairs in lkea l am puffing and panting....Wish l had an AF buddy locally...Take care ....C

Caromia Hi, With respect I wondered if to date you have been Tested on the Treadmill in Cardio, this is monitored and they are able to note your level of tollerance before you are completelly out of breath. Further tests would then take place over a period of out patient apps to establish what treatment if any would help your condition. But never be like a lot of us when we think we are waisting our Doctors time, let me tell you we are not, see your Doc, never sleep on it.

Hi Fibri98...

I haven't been offered the treadmill but will add to my increasingly lengthening list of questions on my next visit to my very patient GP..Thank you for your advice it is very kind of you.C
