tadafil and AF

I’m slightly hesitant to ask this question but has anyone been advised not to take this kind of drug? The guidance on the packaging is ambiguous so was wondering if anyone had bad experience or is there nothing to worry about. I’m in NSR at the moment and reasonably fit. Any feedback most welcome. Thank you.

I think that would be an excellent question for your EP, who knows both the condition of your heart and your AF burden. Both of which, from a quick online search, should factor into that decision.

Tadalafil in the UK is, I think, prescription only, so your GP will have considered this before prescribing. I think the root cause of AF is rarely known and likely multi-factorial such that only your own doctor can give worthwhile advice. I suspect it might decrease blood pressure, which is likely a very helpful thing in many people.

Although actually you can get it off prescription from a pharmacy, however, if your GP prescribed it they'll check into your past history. But to answer your question - no.Happy to discuss via chat. There's also a Men's Health forum on HU which you might find useful.

I've been taking 5mg of Tadalafil for 12 years (Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH). Also taking Sotalol and Lisinopril and the cardiologists didn't seem concerned about any interactions.

Drugs.com info on Tadalafil here... drugs.com/tadalafil.html.
